Aug. 13: Free Screening -
Robert Reich's Inequality For All

Join us for a free screening of Robert Reich's film, Inequality For All, on Thursday, August 13 at 7:00 PM at the “T” accessible Lutheran Church of the Newtons, 1310 Center St. in Newton Center.

The approach of High Holidays calls us to look at how we can improve both ourselves and our society. After the film, join us for refreshments and a discussion led by Rabbi Rachel Schoenfeld on this topic as it relates to Inequality For All.

To RSVP, call (617) 564-0081 (Rabbi Rachel). Watch the Inequality for All trailer at:

High Holiday Services   Please join us for High Holiday services. Shir Hadash welcomes non-members. For more information, call us at 617-564-0186.

Please note that for high holiday services, we meet at an alternate location: 60 Stein Circle, Newton (map).

Shir Hadash is an inclusive and egalitarian havurah (an informal, cooperative congregation) affiliated with the Jewish Reconstructionist Communities. Our members include about 60 households and represent widely diverse backgrounds and points of view. For more than 25 years we have grown in our knowledge and understanding of Judaism.

We have shaped a warm, caring community for members of all ages. We invite you to get acquainted. We meet weekly for Shabbat and holidays from September through June, usually in the Social Hall of the Lutheran Church of the Newtons in Newton Centre. Our services include a variety of formats: breakfast-study sessions, rabbi led, member led and Friday night potlucks. Please consult our calendar.

Rabbi Rachel Dvash Schoenfeld is excited to announce the continuation of our cantorial intern program with Vera Broekhuysen, who will be joining us in January, 2016. See our rabbi/cantorial intern page.
