is an inclusive and egalitarian havurah affiliated with the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation.
We are an informal, cooperative congregation (a havurah) of about 60 households. Our members represent widely diverse backgrounds and points of view. For more than 25 years we have grown in our knowledge and understanding of Judaism, largely through teaching one another.
Rabbi Audrey Marcus-Berkman enhances our Judaic learning, helps build and support our community, and enriches our member-led services.
We have shaped a warm, caring community for members of all ages. We invite you to get acquainted. We meet on Shabbat mornings and for holidays from September through June in the Social Hall of the Lutheran Church of the Newtons, at the intersection of Centre and Cypress streets (1310 Centre Street), in Newton Centre, Massachusetts, convenient to the Newton Centre T stop.
Our members' pages, members.shirhadash-ma.org, includes our member's handbook — with detailed information about committees, services, planning for b'nei mitzvah, members' mailing list, etc.
