About Shir Hadash

Shir Hadash is an informal, cooperative congregation (a havurah) of about 60 households. Our members represent widely diverse backgrounds and points of view. For more than 25 years we have grown in our knowledge and understanding of Judaism, largely through teaching one another. We have shaped a warm, caring community for members of all ages. We invite you to get acquainted.

Structure   We are member-run, egalitarian and participatory.

Worship and Study   Programs and services led by members and Rabbi Audrey Marcus-Berkman for Shabbat and holidays; learning opportunities for all - from beginning Hebrew to Talmud; ongoing relationships with local rabbis, cantors, and Jewish educators; member-led High Holiday services.

Community Activities   Annual retreat weekend; social action projects; potlucks; Shabbat afternoons together.
