Breakfast Study Session
on The Shema

January 30

In this study session, part of a two-session series focusing on the central prayers of our liturgy, we will study the Shema and reflect upon how we relate to its themes of the singularity of God, and reward and punishment. We will also explore the context of the blessings that surround it. (On February 13, I will give a dvar torah about the Amidah, the other central Jewish prayer.) As always, bring your curiosity, your questions, and your friends!

Hold the date for Tzedakah Night

We will decide in an interesting group process how to distribute funds from Shir Hadash to worthwhile causes. This year there will be about $1,400 to donate. If you have a recipient group to be considered, let me know. Stay tuned by email for the details.
