Tzedakah Night

Once a year, on a Friday night we gather as a community to discuss how to distribute the designated Havurah funds to social change and charitable organizations in the US, Israel, and other places around the world. The process is open, lively, highly participatory, and a lot of fun.

CMM Partnership

Since 1997 we have been partnered with the Full Life Gospel Center, a Pentecostal church in Dorchester. Our current activities with them include a joint Seder around Passover, occasional participation in each other’s religious services, and attendance at their July 4 picnic. In the past we were instrumental in the construction and operation of their after school facilities. This partnership was facilitated by our membership in Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries.

Mazon

Shir Hadash is a Member of Mazon, a Jewish Response to Hunger, and members hosting celebratory events are encouraged to donate 3% of the event cost to Mazon.
