Social Action

At Shir Hadash we embrace the Jewish value of tikkun olam, healing the world. We are working on a variety of issues.

Food Insecurity: We support our local Centre Street Food Pantry in Newton with food drives every year during High Holidays and Purim along with financial donations. We also encourage hands-on involvement in the pantry through volunteering and support it in other ways, such as a drive for toiletries for distribution.

We also support other projects as they are announced in the community, such as a clothing drive for immigrants and homeless people who are in a local shelter.
